Monthly Maintenance

• Remove side baffles using 3/8" wrench. Clean the heat
exchanger tubes and the lower ledge near the ash pan of
all fly ash.
• Vacuum exhaust manifold behind ash pan.
• Cumberland Stove Works recommends changing the air filter
every 30 days. T he air filter is found on the back of the unit. See
FiGUre 11. Replacement filters can be ordered through your
stove dealer. Clean air filter (730008); regularly replace if needed.
Seasonal cleaning
• Remove all fuel from the hopper, firebox, firepot and ash
pan. Run auger to clear any remaining fuel from the auger.
It is important to clear the stove of all fuel at the end of
the burning season, as corn and pellets can accumulate
moisture over the summer months. This causes the unit
to rust and/or the fuel to mold.
• Remove the combustion motor and clean impellers and
motor housing of any fly ash.
• Vacuum the stove cavity to clear it of any fly ash or debris.
• Remove the exhaust venting and use a brush to clear all
soot, ash and debris.

EvERY 2-TONS OF FuEL BuRNED, DEPENDiNg ON THE
QuaLiTY aND aMOuNT OF FuEL uSED.
• Inspect all rope gaskets around the front door and ash pan.
When the unit is cleaned out, empty the hopper, take the venting
apart and clean out the fly ash. Then rinse and let dry. Inspect the
draft blower and clean out all areas. Clean the glass, doors and
outer cabinet so that you are ready for the next heating season.
The use of an ash vacuum makes cleaning easier and faster.
