Touch controls o All operations are performed by means of the touch controls that can be found on the control panel. o Each touch control has a visual display that corresponds to it. Switching the hob on o Press the ON/OFF button (8) o The cooking zone indicators (3) will all read “-”.
o IMPORTANT: When a cooking zone is heating, even if the highest power level is selected, it will not glow red permanently. The cooking zone will cycle on and off whilst it is in use. This is normal operation and not a sign of a product fault. Switching off a cooking zone gradually o Press the cooking zone selection button (2) of the cooking zone that you want to switch off.
Switching off a cooking zone instantly o Press the cooking zone selection button (2) of the cooking zone that you want to switch off. o Press the minus (4) and plus (5) buttons simultaneously. o The cooking zone will switch immediately.
Residual heat indicator o After cooking zone switched off, corresponding cooking zone indicator (3) will show flashing letter “H”. This means that temperature of the cooking zone is over 60°C and is therefore still high enough to cause injury. o IMPORTANT: The residual heat indicator will disappear if your mains supply is cut.
o If you wish to cancel the booster function before the 5 minute time period has elapsed, use the zone selection button to select the back right cooking zone. Then press the booster button (1) again and the cooking zone will return to its original power level. o If you press the minus button, the cooking zone will be set to power level 9.
o Certain types of cookware may result in a noise being made when being used on an induction zone hob. This does not mean that there is an appliance fault. o IMPORTANT: You should make sure that all pans are placed in the centre of the induction zone that you are using.
o An audible signal will sound for 30 seconds to advise you that the countdown period has elapsed and the timer display will show “- -“. o WARNING: If any of the cooking zones are active at the end of the countdown time, they will not switch off. You will need to switch off the hob cooking zone(s) and hob in the normal manner.
Locking the hob top o The whole hob top can be locked by pressing the safety lock button (7) whilst the appliance is switched on. o The timer display will show “L0” to indicate that the safety lock feature has been switched on. o When the safety lock feature is activated, it will disable all buttons on the control panel apart from the ON/OFF button.
Hob guidelines o The first few times the hob top is used, it may give off an acrid, burning smell. This smell will disappear completely with repeated use. o The worktop is fitted with cooking areas of different diametre and power. o The positions where the heat will radiate from are clearly marked on the hob top.
DO NOT USE THE HOB IF THE SURFACE BECOMES BROKEN OR CRACKED. YOU SHOULD CONTACT THE BAUMATIC CUSTOMER CARE DEPARTMENT IMMEDIATELY. Cleaning and maintenance Cleaning operations must only be carried out when the hob is cool. The appliance should be disconnected from your mains supply before commencing any cleaning process.

Installation The installation must be carried out by a suitably qualified person, in accordance with the current version of the following. o UK Regulations and Safety Standards or their European Norm Replacements. o Building Regulations (issued by the Department of the Environment).

Installing the appliance o Cut a hole in the worktop that corresponds with the drawing shown above. o IMPORTANT: There ventilation holes around the outside of the hob. YOU MUST ensure that these holes are not blocked by the work top, when you put the hob into position (see drawing opposite).

o IMPORTANT: Do not use a silicon sealant to seal the appliance against the aperture. This will make it difficult to remove the hob from the aperture in future, particularly if it needs to be serviced. o A seal will already be fixed to the underneath of the hob when it is supplied.
Electrical connection This appliance must be installed by a qualified person in accordance with the latest edition of the I.E.E. Regulations and in compliance with Baumatic’s instructions. Before connecting the appliance, make sure that the supply voltage marked on the rating plate corresponds with your mains supply voltage.

o The cable connections must be in accordance with the diagram located on the bottom of the hob (see above) o The brass links must be positioned as marked in the appropriate diagram. Once established, you should use a good quality screwdriver to carefully fully tighten ALL of the terminal screws.
This should be done before contacting the Baumatic Customer Care Department o IMPORTANT: The appliance must NOT be connected to the mains supply by means of a 13A plug and socket.
* IMPORTANT: If the cooking zone does appear to be hotter than 60°C and the residual heat indicator has not come on, you should call the Baumatic Customer Care Department. o A humming sound is heard when a cooking zone is selected.
