A7 CHECK THE HALL EFFECT CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND — TRANSFER CASE ASSEMBLY C201 DISCONNECTED

Measure the voltage between GEM C240-1, circuit 239 (W/O), and ground.
Is any voltage indicated?
Yes
REPAIR circuit 239 (W/O). CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
No
REPLACE GEM; REFER to
Section
419-10. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
Place the mode switch in the A4WD position.
Monitor the PID HALLPWR.
Does the PID HALLPWR indicate OFF?
Yes
GO to A7.
No
GO to A10.
Disconnect transfer case assembly C201 for Navigator or C111 for Expedition.
Cycle the ignition switch OFF then ON.
