Batteries


The manufacturer selects batteries for their ability to
furnish power for starting and operating the DC system.
Refer to the manufacturer's specification when replacing
a battery.

Disconnecting battery:
a. Turn off items drawing power.
b. Turn off battery switch, if equipped.
c. Remove negative (-) cable first, then positive (+) cable.
d. To replace cables, replace positive (+) first, then
negative (-).

Battery maintenance includes:
a. Inspect battery and charging system before every use.
b. Inspect cell fluid level monthly, more often in hot
weather. Replenish with distilled water.
c. Coat terminal posts with silicone grease.
d. Keep batteries clean and dry.
e. Remove battery during cold weather or long term
storage.


equipped with battery switches.
