General L4 protocol forward If General L4 (Layer 4, Transport
Layer) protocol is enabled, packets of any application (such as HTTP,

FTP, SMTP, POP) which uses TCP or UDP protocol will be directly send
to the DMZ host.
ICMP forward ICMP (Internet Control Message Protocol) is an
extension of the Internet protocol. It can forward packets containing
error, control and informational message to the DMZ. Click this check
box to forward ICMP packets.
Apply Click this button to save the setting and restart the router.
Adding a client host to DMZ might expose it to a variety of danger
such as virus or worm attacks because of unrestricted Internet
access; therefore, only use this option as the last means. Besides,
before using DMZ function, you should update the up-to-date
settings of security system and virus signatures on the host.
