The REPEA T function provides a "Playbac k Loop" or "Bloc k Repeat "
bet w een the tw o programmed MEMO points. The 488 understands
the low er MEMO point as the start point of the loop, and the higher
point as the end.
1. Use MEMO and LOC 1 and LOC 2 (as explained above) to
establish the beginning and the end of loop.
2. Press the REPEA T k ey. The tape w ill fast w ind to the low er MEMO
point.
3. As soon as that location is reached, the tape will automatically
start playing to the higher MEMO location.
4. When the tape reac hes the end of the loop, it will automatically
rew ind to the low er MEMO location and start over.
Press any transport k eys (ex c ept Play). The function pressed will be
activated. If the tape is w ound outside the repeat loop points, the
REPEA T L ED that w as on solid will start blinking.
To resum e the REPEA T sequenc e - ;
• Press the appropriate L OC k ey to locate the tape to the low er
MEMO point.
OR
• If you are now w ithin the loop or shortly behind the low er MEMO
point, press PL A Y .
1. If REPEA T is pressed w hile the 488's recorder is in Rec ord mode,
the recorder will stop.
2. You can initiate record directly from the REPEA T mode. As long as
recording is taking place, the REPEA T function is temporarily
defeated; the dec k will not enter Rew ind mode unless you punc h
out before the higher MEMO point is reached.
