How to make an overdub on track 2

Routing input

Overdubbing is recording one or more additional track s on the sam e
tape, w hile listening to previously recorded tracks using CUE.
Leave the microphone connected to the channel 1 input. There is no
need to repat c h it to channel 2 to record on track 2. You c an continue
to use c hannel 1 bec ause the channel's ASSIGN m ak es it possible to
send any mixer input to any track of the recorder.
1. Set the c hannel 1 INPUT ASSIGN sw itch to the left/MIX position.
2. Turn the channel 1 PAN control all the w ay to the right /EVEN
position.
3. Chec k to see that the channel 1 ASSIGN 1 /L -2 /R sw itch is still on
(dow n position).
4. Bring the c hannel 1 fader to 7.
5. Bring the M A ST ER 1 /L -2 /R fader t o 7.
6. Press the MONITOR selec t sw itch GROUP 2 to turn it on. Press
the GROU P 1 sw itch, turning it off (Up position).
7. Press the RT Z k ey, so the tape will rew ind to the beginning of the
track 1 recording.
8. Press the RECORD FUNCTION "2" sw itch. The REC 2 indicator w ill
start blinking in the m et er.
9. Speak into the mic to c hec k to see meter 2 move. If no level or too
low a level is show n, continue to speak into the mic and slow ly
turn the c hannel 1 TRIM control to the right until the m et er peak s
at no m ore than +6.
