Play does not start.
• Turn off the system, then reinsert the USB storage
media.
• Insert the USB storage media that this system can
play (page 5).
• Press H (or touch nN on the unit) to start
play.
Play does not start from the first track.
• Set the play mode to Normal Play mode (page 17).
MP3 audio track cannot be played back.
• The MP3 audio track does not have the extension
".MP3".
• The data is not stored in MP3 format.
• USB storage media formatted with file systems
other than FAT12, FAT16, or FAT32 are
unsupported.*
• If you use partitioned USB storage media, only
MP3 files on the first partition can be played.
• Playback is possible up to 8 levels.
• Maximum album number: "999" (including root
folder)
• The maximum number of MP3 audio tracks and
albums that can be contained on a single USB
storage media is 999.
• Files that are encrypted or protected by
passwords, etc. cannot be played back.
MP3 audio tracks take longer to play back than
others.
• After the system reads all tracks on the USB
storage media, playback may take more time than
usual if:
– the number of albums or tracks is very large.
– the album and track organization structure is
very complex.
– the memory capacity is very large.
– the file size is extremely large.
– the physical structure within the memory is
fragmented.
* This system supports FAT12, FAT16 and FAT32,
but some USB storage media may not support all of
these FAT. For details, see the operation manual of
each USB storage media or contact the manufacturer.

DivX video player
The disc does not eject and "LOCKED"
appears.
• Contact your Sony dealer or local authorized Sony
service facility.

The disc does not eject.
• You cannot eject the disc during CD Synchro
Recording. Press x to cancel the CD Synchro
Recording, then press Z on the unit to eject the
disc.
• Consult your nearest Sony dealer.
Play does not start.
• Check whether a disc is loaded.
• Wipe the disc clean (page 91).
• Reload the disc.
• Load the disc that this system can play (page 6).
• Load the disc correctly.
• Load the disc in the disc slot with the label side
facing right.
• Remove the disc and wipe away the moisture on
the disc, then leave the system turned on for a few
hours until the moisture evaporates.
• Press H (or touch nN on the unit) to start
play.
• The region code on the DVD does not match the
system.
• Cancel the Custom Parental Control function
(page 50).
The sound skips.
• Wipe the disc clean (page 91).
• Reload the disc.
• Try moving the system to a place without
vibration (e.g., on top of a stable stand).
• Try moving the speakers away from the system, or
placing them on separate stands. When you listen
to a track with bass sounds at high volume, the
speaker vibration may cause the sound to skip.
Play does not start from the first track.
• Shuffle Play (page 25), Program Play (page 24),
or Repeat Play (page 26) is selected.
• Resume Play has been selected. Press x in stop
mode, then start playback (page 23).
• The title, DVD or PBC menu automatically
appears on the TV screen.
Playback starts automatically.
• The DVD features an auto playback function.
Playback stops automatically.
• Some discs may contain an auto pause signal.
While playing such a disc, the playback stops at
the auto pause signal.
