Notes
• If the disc does not contain text, the disc name or the
track name is displayed "NO TEXT".
• The system can only display the first level of the
DVD/CD text, such as the Disc name or title.
• If an MP3 audio track name cannot be displayed, "*"
will appear in the display instead.
• Playing time of MP3 audio tracks and DivX video
files may not be displayed correctly.
• If you play a disc containing JPEG image files only,
"JPEG" or "No Audio" appears in the display.
• If you play a disc containing MP3 audio tracks only,
"No Image" appears in the display.
Checking the total playing
time and titles (DVD/VIDEO
CD/CD)
Press TIME/TEXT in stop mode.
Each time you press the button, the display
changes cyclically as follows:
x When a DVD VIDEO/DVD-RW is in
Normal Play mode
Total title number of the disc t Disc name*
x When a CD/VIDEO CD without PBC
function is in Normal Play mode
Total playing time of the disc t Disc name*
x When a VIDEO CD with PBC functions
(Ver. 2.0) is in Normal Play mode
Total scene number of the disc t Disc name*

• Depending on the DVD, the disc information may
not be displayed.
• Depending on the disc, some DVD/CD text
information may not appear.
• With formats other than ISO9660 level 1 and 2,
folder names or file names may not be displayed
correctly.
• Playing time of MP3 audio tracks and DivX video
files may not be displayed correctly.
• If you play a disc containing JPEG image files only,
"JPEG" or "No Audio" appears in the display.
• If you play a disc containing MP3 audio tracks only,
"No Image" appears in the display.
Tip
You can check the playing time of the disc using the
Control Menu (see "Viewing information about the
disc in the on-screen display" on page 71).
Checking the clock display
and sound effect
Press DISPLAY.
Each time you press the button, the display
changes cyclically as follows:
Disc information t Clock display (for a few
seconds) t Selected sound effect (for a few
seconds)

You can check the effect status in any function.
