Routine Maintenance

Packing and shipping the machine

WARNING
• This machine is heavy and weighs more than 47.5 lb (21.5 kg). To prevent possible injuries at least two
people should lift the machine. One person should hold the front of the machine, and one person should
hold the back, as shown in the illustration. Be careful not to pinch your fingers when you put the machine
down.
• If you use a Lower Tray, DO NOT carry the machine with the Lower Tray. Since the Lower Tray is not
attached, you may be injured or cause damage to the machine.
If for any reason you must ship your machine, carefully repack the machine in the original packaging to avoid
damage during transit. The machine should be adequately insured with the carrier.
For HL-L8350CDWT users, pack the lower tray and the machine separately into each original packing box,
and then pack them both into the largest original box.
Unless you are returning the machine as part of the Brother Exchange Service, leave the toner cartridges and
drum unit inside the machine when you pack and ship it.
