Steam Generator
When the steam generator is not in use, the steam relay (K9) is open and there is no voltage at the J20
connector.
When a steam option is activated by the control, the K9 relay closes, sending line voltage through the J20
connector to the steam generator.
The water in the steam generator is heated, boils and creates steam. This steam is introduced into the dryer
drum through an outlet in the front bearing assembly.
When the water supply in the steam generator is depleted, the cycling thermostat in the generator opens
(230°F), sending a 120 VAC signal to the solid state timer. The timer activates the water valve for 4 seconds,
replenishing the generator water supply (2-1/4 ounces) and cooling the thermostat to below 230°F. Note that
the solid state timer is factory preset and is NOT fi eld adjustable.
The thermostat in the steam generator resets and the steam process begins again.
