    Hearth Requirements General Hearth Considerations SAFETY WARNING! The Ventana is a very effective radiant heater. The hearth/floor in front of the heater can get very hot (in excess of 200ºF). Locating the unit raised above the hearth/floor or adding one of the optional screen fronts or a generic freestanding screen in front of the unit can greatly reduce hearth temperatures.
