Receiving in DRPD Mode
DRPD stands for Distinctive Ring Pattern Detection, which is
a telephone company service. It enables a user to use a single
telephone line to answer several different telephone numbers.
To set up DRPD, see "DRPD MODE"under "System Setup
Options" on page 6−8.

Have the machine learn the ring pattern through the
System Setup. (Setup → System Setup → Start/Enter →
DRPD Mode → Set → Start/Enter)

While '[WAITING RING] is displaying, make a call to
your fax number and waits until the machine learns the
ring pattern and displays 'END DRPD[SETUP]'.

Activate DRPD mode. (Setup → System Setup → Start/
Enter → DRPD Mode → On → Start/Enter)

Once you have activated DRPD mode it can be one of
the receiving modes which can be selectable by press−
ing the Rcv. Mode button as FAX, TEL and AUTO.

Press Rcv. Mode repeatedly until '
apeears in the display.

Now, the machine will manage the fax and call as pro−
grammed.

In Standby Mode, DRPD appears in the right hand
corner of the display.
•
If you turn DRPD Mode Off , it will not be accessible
by pressing the Rcv. Mode button.

DRPD must be set up again if you reassign your fax num−
ber, or connect the machine to another telephone line. After
DRPD has been set up, call your fax number again to verify
that the machine answers with a fax tone, then have a call
placed to a different number assigned to that same line to be
sure the machine answers the normal phone call.
