To turn the remote control volume keys off, press:
The DR500 front panel displays OFF indicating the volume control keys
are inactive.
If the remote control volume keys do not work, the unit may be in the
volume OFF mode. Check the DR500 while pressing one of the volume
control keys to see if the OFF message displays. If so, use the PRESET
975 command to activate these keys.
The volume is adjusted in increments between 0 and 32, where 0 is mute
and 32 is full volume. When the remote control volume keys are used, the
front panel displays an L followed by a two-digit volume indicator.
The DR500 is shipped with the full volume (32) setting.

Muting the Volume

The DR500 offers a mute function that is controlled through the remote
control.
1. To mute the audio press:
The current channel will flash on the DR500 front panel while the audio
is muted.
2. To return to normal volume, press MUTE again or press any other
valid key.
The audio will be muted if the signal is not locked, the current channel is
unauthorized, or the current channel has been deleted. If you are having
audio problems, refer to Section 5: Maintenance and Troubleshooting.
