Multimedia Codec and Player Setup

A key component to enabling your video files to stream properly is installing the appropriate codec's
and using video players that have been configured to properly utilize vSpace transcoding and
Microsoft's DirectShow® API. Video streaming in theFUTRO DC20-1 has been optimized for the
DirectShow graphics pipeline and the video players must be configured to match.
To ensure that your streaming media files work optimally on your FUTRO DC20-1, you will
need to apply these instructions to your host. Once you complete these steps that ensure
that the codec's are configured properly then the following Video Players should support
the file formats mentioned in the FUTRO DC20-1 multimedia overview:
Windows Media® Player (preinstalled with the OS)
Media Player Classic (preinstalled with vSpace)
(optionally) VLC Media Player
Other video players may be used but they and their codec's must be configured to use the
DirectShow API to realize the maximum performance of the FUTRO DC20-1.

FUTRO DC20-1 Multimedia Acceleration

The FUTRO DC20-1 will display full screen streaming video and multi-media applications across
multiple user sessions and is optimized to do so using the vSpace transcoding process.
Windows displaying video and multi-media applications are dynamically detected by vSpace and
then transcoded for transport to the FUTRO DC20-1 device using the UXP network protocol.
The detection and transcoding process can take a second or two to engage, during
which time media will not be fully accelerated. A short black or blue flicker will
precede the multimedia acceleration – this is normal.
► You can control whether the acceleration engages or not for non-media player
applications via the NC Tray application located in the Windows system tray,
by selecting or deselecting Browser acceleration.
