If a minor problem occurs, it usually can be solved quite easily when the cause is found by using the
checklist below.
Any other servicing should be done by an authorized service representative.
To reduce risk of personal injury - unplug cleaner before servicing.

No voltage in wall plug.
Blown fuse or tripped breaker. Replace fuse or reset breaker.
Thermal protector activated.
Custom Control™ switch set
on bare floor position.
Agitator is obstructed.
Broken or worn belt.
Brushroll worn.
Filter bag full.
Incorrect carpet height
setting.
Blockage in air flow passage.
Incorrect carpet height setting. Move carpet height control to higher setting.
Flat belt broken or worn.
Self-propel button in OFF
position.
Brushroll in OFF position.
Flat belt broken or worn
Too much pressure being
applied to tool.
Blockage in turbine channel.
Broken or worn belt.
Low cleaner suction.

possible solution
Plug unit in firmly.
Check fuse or breaker.
Allow cleaner to cool for 30 minutes (this will
reset the thermal protector).
Set switch to carpet position.
Clear obstruction.
Replace belt.
Replace brushroll.
Change filter bag.
Move carpet height control to lower setting.
Clear blockage.
Replace belt.
Slide button to ON.
Move brushroll control to ON position (carpet).
Replace belt
Continue using tool applying light pressure.
Remove blockage.
Replace belt
Check items under "Cleaner won't pick up".
