Port Isolation Configuration

This chapter explains how to configure the port isolation on 065-7434 Signamax 24-Port
10/100 L3 Switches.

Overview

The port isolation is based on port security features. Users can specify isolated ports as per
their requirements to realize the isolation of data in Layer 2 and Layer 3 between a port and
an isolated port. This enhances network security and provides flexible networking solutions for
users.
By default, transmission of data packets can be realized between any two ports in a same
VLAN of a switch. To disable communication of specified ports in the same VLAN, users should
configure the port.
The port isolation features are irrelevant with VLAN to which the port belongs. Currently, 065-
7434 Signamax 24-Port 10/100 L3 Switches support configuring isolated ports in the normal
port mode and the aggregation port mode. The configured isolated ports can be normal ports
and aggregation ports. The port isolation function realizes single-directional packet discarding.
If enabling the port isolation function on port A and specifying port B, Port C and Port D as
isolated ports, the packet (entered from the port A and whose destination port is B or C or D)
is discarded directly. But the packet entered from port B/C/D with the destination port A can
be transmitted normally.
