4. Unlock the beam by rotating the lock knob as indicated on the right side of the scale.

5. To zero scale, slide both upper & lower poise weights to the far left until they point to 0

. Using the screwdriver adjust the coarse zero adjustment screw (clockwise to raise
beam, counter clockwise to lower beam) until the floating beam pointer and fixed po
are nearly aligned. (fig. 6)

. Turn the fine zero adjust knob (counter clockwise to raise beam, clock wise to lower
beam) to complete alignment of pointers.
