5. Gain Offset

• Using this item, you can set the gain offset for the high and low
frequencies when the transducer is installed in-hull. The ultrasonic
beam of the transducer installed in-hull is attenuated by the boards of
the hull, and the gain is considerably deteriorated. When you add the
gain offset, you can compensate for the loss of gain.
• Press the
up or down to select GAIN OFFSET and push it
in to open the gain offset setting pull-down menu. Press the
up or down to select the high or low frequency and press it to the left
or right to set a gain offset value. The gain offset values range from
"0" to 60.
Note:
If you add a gain offset value for other than in-hull installation, the
water depth cannot be displayed correctly. Except when the transducer
is installed in-hull, be sure to set the gain offset value to "0" both for
high and low frequencies.

6. Reset Trip Log

• You can reset the TRIP LOG value to "0" using this item. The TRIP
LOG is the sum of the navigated distances (up to 999.9NM) and
displayed at the top of the screen in the NAVIGATION mode. The
value of the TRIP LOG is maintained after the FF50 is turned OFF.
• Press the
up or down to select RESET LOG and push it in
to open the trip log reset pull-down menu. Press the
left or right to select YES and push it in to reset the TRIP LOG value
to "0".

7. Magnetic Compass Correction

• You can set a correction value of the magnetic variation. The readout
of the bearing will be the sum of the input bearing data and the
correction value.
You can select AUTO or MANUAL for setting the correction value.
• Press the
up or down to select MAGNETIC CORR and
push it in to open the correction value of the magnetic variation
setting pull-down menu. Press the
select AUTO or MANUAL. When MANUAL is selected, press the
up or down to set a correction value. For example, enter
E7.0 as the correction value when the magnetic variation currently
listed in the marine chart is W7.0 . The correction range from 0.0 to
W179.9 or E179.9 , and you can set it in increments of 0.1 . To
disable correction, select MANUAL and set the correction value to
0.0 .
Note:
The correction value set with AUTO is a rough value calculated based
on the current date and time, and the ship's current position. You
cannot set it with AUTO if the data of the current date & time and
the current ship's position is not stored.
When it is necessary to set a more precise value or when the
abovementioned data is not stored, set it with MANUAL.
