    3.3 Safety Information To maintain the safety of users and property, follow these safety instructions: The XAP-1500 wireless access point is designed for indoor use only. DO NOT place „ this access point outdoors. If you require an outdoor access point, please consider the Luxul XAP-1040.

    4 HARDWARE FEATURES AND INSTALLATION 4.1 Front View The XAP-1500 has three LEDs, positioned on the side of the access point 1) Power, 2) 2.4GHz wireless activity and 3) 5GHz wireless activity. NOTE: The LEDs may be enabled or disabled through the user interface.

    XAP-1500 4.2 Rear View The back of the XAP-1500 provides two RJ-45 connections. The fi rst port is used to deliver both power and data to the access point and is labeled PoE. The second port is optional and may be used as a switch port to connect any other device to the network.

    4.4.2 Mounting the Access Point on a Wall or Ceiling The XAP-1500 may be installed on a wall, ceiling or desktop (fl at surface). A separate mounting ring is included for ease of installation. The Quick Install Guide (QIG) has a mounting template to assist in positioning the AP correctly.
  • Page 10 XAP-1500 4.4.3 Connecting to the Power Source The XAP-1500 is PoE ready. Please ensure you ONLY use the PoE injector that is included in the product box. To apply power, simply connect an Ethernet cable to the PoE injec- tor (Power/Data port) and the opposite end of the Ethernet cable to the PoE port of the AP.

    5 CONFIGURATION 5.1 Login To confi gure the XAP-1500 enter the IP address of the AP into a browser. For your computer to fi nd the AP, it must be on the same subnet as the AP. The default address for the XAP-1500 is 192.168.0.16.

    IP Addresses to a device on the network. If DHCP is enabled on the Access Point, it will no longer use the static address set by Luxul at time of manufacturing and will request a Dynamic IP Address from the Router (sometimes referred to as the Gateway).
