Engine Oil and Filter

maintenance schedule (page 81).
When running in very dusty conditions,
oil changes should be performed more
f r e q u e n t l y
t h a n
maintenance schedule.
Please dispose of used engine oil in a
m a n n e r t h a t i s c o m p a t i b l e w i t h t h e
environment. We suggest you take it in
a
s e a l e d c o n t a i n e r t o y o u r l o c a l
recycling center or service station for
reclamation. Do not throw in the trash or
pour it on the ground or down a drain.
Used engine oil may cause skin cancer
if repeatedly left in contact with the skin
for prolonged periods. Although this is
unlikely unless you handle used oil on a
d a i l y b a s i s , i t i s s t i l l a d v i s a b l e t o

thoroughly wash your hands with soap
a n d w a t e r a s s o o n a s p o s s i b l e a f t e r
handling used oil.

Changing the oil filter requires a special
oil filter tool and a torque wrench. If you
d o n o t h a v e t h e s e t o o l s a n d t h e

necessary skill, we recommend that you
have your Honda dealer perform this
service.
If a torque wrench is not used for this
installation, see your Honda dealer as soon
as possible to verify proper assembly.
Change the engine oil with the engine at
normal operating temperature and the
scooter on its side stand to assure
complete and rapid draining.
