Set the Access Point Name (APN) into the Modem's Properties on your PC
Before your EDGE modem can connect to your provider's network, you must tell the modem the APN that it's
going to connect to. The APN is a server name that your account is setup on with your provider. You provider
supplies you with your APN. Some better known APNs include:
AT&T; PROXY, or INTERNET, or PUBLIC
T-Mobile: INTERNET2. VOICESTREAM.COM, or INTERNET3.VOICESTREAM.COM, or WAP.VOICESTREAM.COM
Rogers AT&T of Canada: INTERNET.COM
Setting up an Access Point Name (APN)
From the Start button select Control Panel.

In Control Panel, double-click Phone and Modem Options.

In the Phone and Modem Options window, select the Modems tab.

From the table, select your Cell modem then click Properties.

A Properties window for your modem opens. For Windows Vista and later operating systems, click on the

Change Settings button.
Select the Advanced tab. In the Extra Settings group, in the Extra initialization commands text box, enter:

AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","<APN>"
where <APN>, is the APN for your account.
For example: AT+CGDCONT=1"IP","ISP.AT&T"
Click OK to close the Properties window. Then click OK to close the Phone and Modems Options window.
