3. Assembly and Operation

First of all, please, put on the white gloves to avoid finger prints on the surface of the acrylic chassis during
installation.
1. Place the chassis on a clean and stable surface. Please make sure, that the surface of your HiFi-rack is
correctly adjusted,, vertically and horizontally; check with the level gauge (part of supply). Important:
Never turn the Spikes of the turntable chassis, they had been adjusted in the factory. Use the Flad Pads
(part of supply) to avoid scratches on the surface of your HiFi-rack.
2. Now unpack your turntable platter carefully together with the upper part of the bearing. Make sure that
the bearing does not fall out of the turntable platter, while handling it. Remove the adhesive tape holding
the bearing to the platter.
3. Place the lower side of the platter carefully on to the bearing spindle of the turntable chassis. Due to the
high precision machining some air could be trapped inside the bearing. The air will dissipate after
several turns of the platter. Please make sure, that the two
markings on the turntable platter and on the bearing are lining up
(as shown in the figure below). The correct positioning of these
markings is very important, since factory calibration had been done
accordingly..
4. Place the pulley on the motor spindle. The distance between the
pulley and the motor housing should be approx. 1-2mm. Tighten the
little screws inside the pulley with the aluminium screwdriver
provided.
5. Place the uncoupling base of the motor in the indentation of the
chassis and place the motor on top of it. The switch of the motor
should face to the outside of the turntable and the gap between
motor and chassis should be approx. 1cm.
6. Place the belt first around the platter, then around the smaller
diameter of the pulley (33 1/3 rpm).
7. The tension of the belt can be adjusted by turning the motor about
its axis. The tension is correct, when the correct turntable speed is
reached within 10 seconds. If the tension is too high, the motor
could start to vibrate a little bit. If the tension is too low, the
turntable will not achieve a constant and correct speed.
The clearaudio Champion Level 2 turntable is now completely assembled and you can now enjoy listening
