Check Condition of Belt

Service Interval: Every 50 hours
1. Stop engine, wait for all moving parts to stop, and
remove key. Engage parking brake.
2. Inspect the belt for damage or wear. Replace belt
with one of the following:
Deck
52 inch Deck
60 inch Deck
72 inch Deck
3. Inspect the belt position on the idler arm.
The idler arm may become bent during use or
transport. A bent idler arm could cause the belt
to jump off of the idler and be damaged.
A. Make sure the belt cover is installed and run
the blower for one to two minutes.
B. Shut off the deck drive, stop engine, wait
for all moving parts to stop and remove key.
Engage parking brake. Remove the belt cover
and check to make sure that the belt is riding
near the center of the flat idler on the idler
arm.
C. If the belt is not riding near the center of the
idler, remove the blower, and bend the idler
arm slightly.
Note: Idler still needs to clear the deck
stiffener during operation.

near the center of the idler.
Flexible Discharge Tube
Service Interval: As required
Inspect the flexible discharge tube for wear or
damage.
WARNING
Under normal use the flexible discharge tube
will wear. Objects could exit a worn flexible
discharge tube at high speeds. Thrown
objects can cause serious injury or kill you
or bystanders.
Check the flexible discharge tube for tears
and holes. Replace worn flexible discharge
tube.
Fill Sensor
Service Interval: As required
The fill sensor is located at the front of the hopper,
and is wired into the PTO circuit. When grass fills
the hopper enough to block one or both sensors,
an alarm will sound. The fill sensor testing must be
made with the PTO engaged, but the engine does
not have to be running.
1. Stop engine, wait for all moving parts to stop, and
remove key. Engage parking brake.
2. Unlatch the door and pull the door handle
engagement pin to raise the door to the top of the
hopper (see Figure 13).
3. Reach into the hopper and place a piece of
masking or duct tape over the LH sensor.
4. Close the door.
5. Sit in the seat and turn the key to the RUN
position, but DO NOT START the unit.
6. Pull up on the PTO switch to engage power to the
clutch; you should hear a click from the clutch.
7. There is a split second delay before the fill sensor
alarm will sound.
8. Repeat steps 2 through 4 to remove the tape from
the sensor.
