If 0 (zero) is entered, the Input Inactivity Timeout will be disabled, and
the end of a print job will occur only when the computer sends the
Port Select Code followed by a printer port number.
Do not set the Input Inactivity Timeout to zero seconds when Port
Select Mode B has been selected. Mode B recognizes the end of
a print job only by the Input Inactivity Timeout. It does not
recognize the manual disconnect where the computer sends the
Port Select Code and a port number.
For example, if you entered "100" for 100 seconds, the Model 24SII
DES will respond with:
Input Inactivity Timeout is 100 Seconds
Enter New Value (0 to 200), or ENTER for no change :
If no other change is required, strike the Enter key. The Model 24SII
DES will respond with the reconfigured status and the prompt. You
may now set the timeout for another computer port, or exit by striking
the Enter key. The Model 24SII DES will save the new Input Inactivity
Timeout(s) permanently in non-volatile memory and will subsequently
power-up with the new timeout period(s) in effect.
The Model 24SII DES will now return to the main configuration menu
(see Section 8.1 ).
