The HP LaserJet will give this message

Use correct serial cable between PC and
Model 24SII DES. Check handshaking
lines in TERM program.

Match baud rate, word size, stop bits,

done using TERM program.

Ensure PC COM port is connected to
configuration port of Model 24SII DES.
Software
Use dumb terminal or a PC running a
terminal emulation program (TERM
supplied by BayTech, or another
program such as CrossTalk).
User activity
Wait until current activity between PC
and printer is completed. There should
be no red LEDs illuminated when trying
to enter the configuration mode.
