Burglary Protection

The burglary protection portion of your system must be turned on or "armed" before it will sense
burglary alarm conditions. When the system is armed, faulting one or more protection zones
causes an alarm to sound and can allow the central station to listen-in to activity at the
premises (if your system is so equipped).
Your system provides four modes of burglary protection: STAY, AWAY, INSTANT and
MAXIMUM, and allows you to BYPASS selected zones of protection while leaving the rest of
the system armed. The system also provides a CHIME mode, for alerting users to the opening
and closing of doors and windows while the system is disarmed. The following table lists the
different arming modes and the results of each.

Fire Protection

The fire protection portion of your security system (if used) is always on and sounds an alarm if
a fire condition is detected, and allows the central station to listen-in to activity at the premises
(if your system is so equipped). Refer to the FIRE ALARM SYSTEM section for important
information concerning fire protection, smoke detectors and planning emergency exit routes
from your house.
