Possible cause
The subject did
not provide
enough contrast
for the camera to
focus properly.
The focus
distance is

the camera can

focus,

The scene is dark
and a flash is
recommended.

Solution

Focus Lock
taking the picture (see
page 26).
Make sure the camera is
not set to
Macro
Set the camera to
focus, or if set to
focus, move further away
from the subject.
Set the camera to
focus or to
Normal
and try taking the picture
again. (See

page 27.)
Use the pop-up flash (see

page 29), or use a tripod.
Select a different aperture
