(continued)
The boiler must be leak tested before
being placed in operation. Before
boiler is connected to piping or
electrical power supply, it must be
hydrostatically pressure tested.
1. Cap supply and return connections
(¾" NPT Male).
2. Connect a ½" garden hose to
boiler drain valve at the bottom
of the boiler and fill boiler slowly
until pressure gage indicates max.
4 bar / 60 psig.
3. Maintain pressure for 15 minutes.
During time of pressure testing, do
not leave boiler unattended.
4. Inspect all pipe joint connections
and safety devices with a
flashlight for leaks.
A lower manometer reading than
4 bar / 60 psig usually indicates
loss of water due to leakage. All
leaks must be repaired.
Hot water temperature reading
The hot water reading is constantly
displayed during operation.
Water pressure reading
The boiler water pressure is displayed
on the analog gage.
Boiler Connections
5. After 15 minutes, release water
pressure from boiler by opening
boiler drain valve slowly, remove
caps from supply and return
connections as well as ¾" cap
from 2" nipple, and install
pressure relief valve immediately
instead of ¾" cap.
After boiler has passed the
pressure test, proceed with the
installation.
WARNING
Exposing the boiler to pressures and
temperatures in excess of those
listed will result in damage, and will
render warranty null and void.
See page 45 for fill procedure.
