Precautions on Use
IEEE1394 cable
The IEEE1394 standard for maximum length of cable between devices is 4.5 meters.
The length of the included IEEE1394 cable is one meter.
For USB connection
• A spare PCI expansion slot or a CardBus slot to install a USB 2.0 interface card (if
one has not been installed)
• USB port (USB 2.0 compatible)
A USB port is required to connect the CRW-F1DX drive to the computer. The
CRW-F1DX drive needs to be connected to the USB port on the computer. The
drive connected to the computer via a USB hub may not operate properly.
To fully utilize the CRW-F1DX drive, a USB 2.0 port and EHCI (Enhanced Host
Controller Interface) compliant driver are required.
If a computer has a USB port with USB 1.1 specifications, Yamaha recommends
that a USB 2.0 interface card be installed in the computer.
The USB 2.0 interface card that has been already recognized to support the CRW-
F1DX drive is as follows.
