Changing the audio output method for
surround playback
Specify the sound beam output method for surround sound
playback.
Press the BEAM key to switch the sound beam
output method.
With 5.1-channel (or 2-channel) input
Sound beams are output from 5.1 channels. Choose from 5BEAM
(5 Beam), ST+3BEAM (Stereo + 3 Beam), 3BEAM (3 Beam),
and MY SUR. (My Surround).
With 7.1-channel (or 6.1-channel) input
Sound beams are output from 7.1 channels. Choose from
5BEAM+2 (5 Beam Plus 2), ST+3BEAM+2 (Stereo + 3 Beam
Plus 2), 3BEAM (3 Beam), and MY SUR. (My Surround).

Tips
The default sound beam channel output setting is "AUTO". At
the default setting, sound is output from the appropriate number
of channels according to input signal as indicated above.
With 2-/5.1-channel input: 5.1-channel output
With 6.1-/7.1-channel input: 7.1-channel output
The output method can be locked at 5.1 or 7.1-channel output
from "CHANNEL OUT" in the setup menu (☞p. 61).
