Zoom ADSL X6
ADSL 2/2+ Modem + Wireless Access Point + Router
+ Advanced Firewall + 4-port Switch
Model 5590
The Zoom X6 provides an extensive range of networking and Internet access features in
a surprisingly affordable product. Advanced security features protect sensitive data in
the home or office. You'll appreciate the superior range of the X6 wireless transmissions
and the easy setup and management. And with ADSL2/2+ compliance, the X6 works
with both older ADSL protocols and the new generation of higher-speed Internet
connections.
The 802.11g Wireless Access Point provides easy network installation and freedom to
roam. With Zoom 125 Speed Booster, wireless data rates can reach 125 Mbps*. The
Model 5590 also provides complete compatability with 802.11g from other manufac-
turers operating at 54 Mbps and compatibility with the older 802.11b standard
operating at 11 Mbps. Unlike other wireless access points, the X6 can support concur-
rent connections to both 802.11(b) and (g) devices without compromising the data rate
of the higher speed devices.
With competing products, an 802.11b device on an 802.11g network can bring the
performance of the entire wireless network down to the slower 802.11b speed. The
Model 5590 is equipped with Prism
problem created with a mixed network of 802.11b and 802.11g devices and maxi-
mize network performance.
Wireless security includes the newer Wi-Fi Protected Access(WPA) protocol as well as
Wired Equivalency Protection (WEP).
Zoom ADSL gateways are backed by a two year warranty and over 28 years of
experience in the design and support of communications products.

  • Page 2 * The 802.11g Wi-Fi standard transmits at a maximum of 54 Mbps. Higher effective speeds can be achieved by using compression algorithms and 430 Frimley Business Park techniques like packet aggregation and frame bursting. The maximum speed obtained by the Model 5590 depends on the type of data being sent and the Frimley, Camberley actual data rate of an 802.11 connection.
