Processors
Ê Fold down the two heat sink retaining clips at the same time (2) and lock the
heat sink by returning the heat sink retaining clips to their original position.

Ê Reinstall system fan 2 (or 2&4) as described in the
Ê Close the server, connect it to the power outlet, and switch it on as described
in the

Replacing the processor

CAUTION!
Only processors of the same type may be used on the system board.
That means the number of the internal processor cores as well as the
primary clock and the FSB frequency have to be the same. For dual
operation, use a suitable multiprocessor operating system.
Ê Open the server and remove system fan 2 (or 2&4) as described in the
chapter
"Preparation".
Ê Press the heat sink retaining clips downward and inward to release them.
Ê Swing the heat sink retaining clips up as far as they will go.
Ê Loosen the heat sink by turning it back and forth and then lift it out.
Ê Remove the residual thermal paste from the underside of the heat sink.
