Preparation

If you want to replace components that are not hot-pluggable, it makes sense in
most cases to remove the system unit from the rack cabinet.
Removing the system unit from the rack cabinet

CAUTION!
For safety reasons, at least three people are required to
install/remove the PRIMERGY BX900 S1 system unit because of
its weight and size.
Before removing the system unit from the rack, the server blades,
storage blades, connection blades, power supply units and fan
modules must be removed to reduce the weight of the system unit.
Please observe the safety information and notes on rack installation
in the chapter "Safety notes"
Ê Exit all applications and shut down the server blades correctly.
Ê Switch off the system unit by pressing the On/Off button on the front.
Ê Unplug the power plugs from the power outlets.
Ê Note the positions of the server blades, storage blades, connection blades,
power supply units and fan module in the system unit for installation at a later
date.
Ê Remove all server blades, storage blades, connection blades, power supply
units and fan modules from the system unit (see operating manual).
