Replacing the midplane

Replacing the midplane
The midplane provides the connections between the server blades and the
infrastructure modules of the system unit. The midplane is attached to the rear
chassis. The rear chassis is inserted in the rear of the system unit as an inner
housing. It provides slots for power supply units, fan modules, connection
blades and management blades.

figure 6
shows the removed rear chassis with the attached midplane. You can
see the contacts for the server blades (1) at the top and bottom of the midplane.
The port for the front docking board (2) is on the right of the midplane. The front
docking board is connected to the ServerView Local Service Panel by a cable.
