that the battery is being overcharged and will damage the battery if
left unchecked.
The voltage regulator is most likely at fault.
When the battery is being charged (having electrical loads placed upon
it and no charg ing current applied), it is normal for the needle to
indicate between 11.4 and 12.6 volts.
Electrical System Troubleshooting
Trouble
ON switch depressed,
electric fuel pump

1. Battery switch or

Remedy
1. Check switch and/or
battery connections.
2. Reset breaker if it
opens again, check
preheat solenoid cir-
cuit and "run" circuit
