In confined compartments fresh cool air should be brought into the
compartment by means of AC or DC blowers and necessary ducting.
This
air should be directed at the generator end bell opening.

Sizing
The proper
sized generator
to maintain the average vessel load
should be installed, otherwise compromises when loading will have to
be worked out.
An inventory of the vessel's AC loads should be made paying par-
ticular attention to motor loads that the generator will have to start
and run.
(The amperage draw of a motor when starting can be as much
as 3 - 5 times its normal running amperage.)
Determine the average AC load of the vessel and size the generator
to handle this load with reserve.
