Troubleshooting
Video problems
Problem
The call is connected, but
the other party's screen is
dark and the sound quality
is poor.
The call is connected, both
audio and video are present,
but the called party cannot
see or hear me.
The call is connected, both
the audio and video are pres-
ent, and the called party can
hear me but cannot see me.
The other party's screen is
frozen and there is
no sound.
You can hear the person
you are talking to, but there
is no incoming video on the
video screen
The incoming video image is
too dark.
The incoming video
image freezes.
Solution
• Ask the other party to improve the lighting in the
room.
See Getting Started: Getting the Best Video
Image Possible.
• Try adjusting the brightness of your LCD screen.
Settings: Configuring Display.
• If the video phone is installed on a private network
or behind a firewall, you may not be receiving the
other party's screen.
• Verify that the called party's video device is
working properly.
• Verify the video phone is connected to Internet
properly.
• Verify the called party's video phone was not
disconnected from Internet.
• Cancel the call and try again.
• Ask the other party to improve the lighting in the
room. See Setting Up the Phone: Getting the Best
Video Image Possible.
• Try adjusting the brightness of your LCD screen.
Settings: Configuring Display.
• Allow a few seconds for the problem to correct
itself. Your Internet connection or the other party's
Internet connection may be congested. Cancel the
call and try again.
