TROUBLESHOOTING

Before contacting your Panasonic service centre, check the following points:
NOTE: Failure to correctly maintain your product may result in a charge if referred to a service agent for attention.
WARNING
Disconnect electrical supply before performing maintenance to the vacuum cleaner. Failure to do so could result in
electrical shock or personal injury.
PROBLEM
Vacuum cleaner won't run.
Poor job of dirt pick-up.
Beater bar does not turn.
Sound changes.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
1. Unplugged at mains socket.
2. On/off switch not turned on.
3. Tripped circuit breaker replace at
household service panel.
4. Thermal protector tripped.
5. Defective fuse in mains plug.
6. Defective mains socket.
1. Full or clogged dust bin.
2. Worn or broken belt.
3. Worn beater bar.
4. Clog in the air path.
5. Tripped overload protector in
nozzle (MC-UL426 only).
6. Motor protection system activated.
7. Dirty pre-filter, primary filter and/or
exhaust filter.
1. Carpet/Bare floor selector in
BARE FLOOR position.
2. Worn or broken belt.
3. Beater bar entangled.
4. Tripped overload protector in
nozzle (MC-UL426 only).
1. Tool use restricts air flow.
2. Clogged in the air path.
1. Plug in firmly, push on/off switch.
2. Place on/off switch in on position.
3. Reset circuit breaker or fuse.
4. Allow vacuum cleaner to cool for
approximately 50 minutes. (page 13)
5. Check/replace fuse. (page 2)
6. Check with another appliance or lamp.
Have socket properly serviced.
1. Empty dust bin. (page 14)
2. Replace belt. (page 17, 18)
3. Replace beater bar (page 20).
4. Refer to BYPASS VALVE (page 13)
and CLOG REMOVAL (page 19).
5. Reset overload protector. (page 12)
6. Check for clogs. (page 19)
7. Clean/change filters. (pages 15, 16)
1. Place Carpet/Bare Floor selector in
CARPET position. (page 9)
2. Replace belt. (page 17, 18)
2. Clean beater bar. (page 20)
4. Reset overload protector. (page 12)
1. Check tools for fuzz, lint, pet hair or
other debris.
2. Refer to BYPASS VALVE (page 13)
and CLOG REMOVAL (page 19).
