Server Error Messages

The following POST error messages are new to some ProLiant servers. For a
complete listing of error messages, refer to the Servers Troubleshooting Guide on
the Documentation CD.
Error Code
207-Memory Configuration
Warning - DIMM In DIMM Socket
X does not have Primary Width of
4 and only supports standard
ECC.
209-Online Spare Memory
Configuration - Spare bank is
invalid. Mixing of DIMMs with
Primary Width of x4 and x8 is not
allowed in this mode.
A mixture of 533 MHz and 400
MHz Front Side Bus Speed
Processors Detected! Please
make sure that all Processors
have the same Front Side Bus
Speed. - System Halted.
This system only supports 400
MHz Front Side Bus Speed
Processors. One or more 533
MHz Front Side Bus Speed
Processors have been initialized
at 400 MHz.

When the Server Does Not Start

This section provides systematic instructions on what to try and where to go for
help for the most common problems encountered during initial POST. The server
must first complete this test each time you power up, before it can load the
operating system and start running software applications.
If the server does not start:

a primary width of x8.

Installed DIMMs for

online spare bank are
short
of a different primary
width than the DIMMs
in other banks.

different front side bus
short
speeds.

of 533 MHz is not
short
supported by the
server model.
Possible Action
Install DIMMs that have a
primary width of x4.
Install or reinstall DIMMs
to support online spare
configuration.
Install processors with
the same front side bus
speed.
None. The system will
run at the supported front
side bus speed of 400
MHz.
