Changing the tool

Disconnect the plug from the power
EN
source before making any adjust-
ments, changing accessories, or stor-
ing power tools.
Such preventive safety measures
prevent accidental start of the power
tool.
Wear safety gloves for tool chang-
ing.
The tool insert can become very hot
after working for long periods and/or
the cutting edges of the tool insert are
sharp.
The dust protection cap 2 largely prevents the
penetration of drilling dust during operation. When
inserting the tool, take care that the dust protec-
tion cap 2 is not damaged.
A damaged dust protection cap should be changed
immediately. It is recommend to have this carried
out by an after-sales service.
The tool holder retains the drill bit or chiselling tool
in a SDS-plus holder without additional equipment.

Inserting the tool

Clean and grease the tool shaft slightly.
Retract the unlocking sleeve I.
Insert the tool into the tool holder by turning it until
it snaps into place. 1
Release the unlocking sleeve I.
Check the interlock by pulling the tool.

In devices with SDS-plus automatic interlocking,
the unlocking sleeve must not be retracted when

Operating tips

Use auxiliary handles supplied with
the tool.
Loss of control can cause personal
injury.
Always match the speed setting to the material
concerned and the diameter of the drill bit.
Hammer drilling - Chiselling
Wear protective glasses and hearing
protection.
Do not apply too much pressure. The performance
is not increased by doing so.
The most effective method for chiselling is to break
out only small pieces of material.
Drilling in tiles
Start drilling slowly on the tile. Only
after the tile is drilled through, switch
to hammer drilling.
This prevents the tile from cracking.
Drilling with diamond drill bits
Set the operation mode switch II to drilling.
-NOTE-
Switch the hammer action off when drilling with a
diamond drill bit.
Screws
The screw adapter 6 (accessory) can hold screw
bits.
Commercially available bits with a hexagonal di-
mension of 6.3 mm or 1/4" (DIN 3126, Form C) can
be used. The screw-bits are held in the adapter
with a spring ring. Therefore, use only bits with a
notch.
Set the operation mode switch II to drilling.
