Operation
Mechanical gear selection (option)
The gear selection / rotation stop switch III can be
used to select three settings.
1
Low speed range: Hammer drilling,
drilling with normal twist drills in
wood/metal over 8 mm, and stirring
tasks
2
High speed range: Drilling with nor-
mal twist drills up to 8 mm
No rotational motion: Light chisel
work
The switchover can best be performed at standstill.
Please note that the gear selection / rotation stop
switch III can only be turned 1 level at a time. After
the On/Off switch V has been actuated and the ma-
chine has started, the gearbox switches to the
preselected setting. Only then can the gear selec-
tion / rotation stop switch III be turned to the next
setting.

Selecting the direction of rotation

Operate the rotational direction switch VII only
when the machine is at a standstill!
Set the required direction of rotation.
Clockwise rotation:
For drilling and fixing screws.
Anticlockwise rotation:
For loosening and removing screws
and nuts.
Important: Press the rotational direction switch VII
up to the stop on the housing, i. e. until it snaps in
audibly.
If the rotational direction switch VII is set between
the positions "R" and "L", the machine cannot be
switched on.

Selecting the modes of operation

The operational mode switch II can be used to se-
lect the required settings.
The switchover can be performed best at standstill.
After the On/Off switch V has been actuated and
the machine has started, the gearbox switches to
the preselected setting.

Impact drilling

Impact drilling
-NOTE-
Left rotation when impact drilling damages the drill.
Switch off the impact mechanism for diamond
crown drilling or for mixing work.
When hammer drilling, only use drills with tungsten
carbide inserts and SDS-Plus shafts.
The use of commercially available rock drills with
cylindrical shafts by means of the adapter 6 and a
normal drill chuck in conjunction with the pneumat-
ic impact mechanism is not possible.

Adjusting the chisel
Positioning the chisel
The chisel can now be turned by hand to the re-
quired working position.
The chisel latches automatically as soon as it is ra-
dially loaded by the working or chiselling process.
-NOTE-
In devices where the selection of the above symbol
is not available, put the operational mode switch in
an intermediate position.
