Maintenance and Trouble-Shooting
Solution
Make sure the power plug is connected properly. Check wheth-
er the power switch is on.
Check whether the wall socket is working properly by connect-
ing another device.
Make a copy to check if the machine is working properly. Make
sure there is paper in the paper cassette.
Check whether the machine is in manual reception mode or
memory reception mode, whether there is paper in the paper
cassette and / or enough memory is available.
Check the size of the document and if it is placed properly in
the feeder.
Make a copy with your machine. If the copy shows no lines the
problem is at the other location. If no stripes appear on the
copy, the remote side's machine is probably defective.
Please follow the procedures explained earlier in this chapter.
If the problem persists, contact the technical service.
Remove the fax plug from the wall outlet and check your tele-
phone. If the telephone works properly, contact the technical
service.
Most errors are caused by bad lines. Please try again to con-
tact the other fax machine. If the problem persists, contact the
technical service.
Adjust the paper guides.
If black stripes appear on the copy, clean the scanner surface.
If the printout is too light or blurred, remove the toner cartridge
and shake it.
Check the paper size and paper type. Make sure the paper is
not wrinkled or folded.
Adjust the paper guides.
Make sure the paper cassette is properly loaded.
