Riving Knife
Alignment
The riving knife prevents the kerf from
closing behind the blade and binding the
workpiece, which could cause kickback. You
MUST always have the riving knife properly
installed and positioned before beginning
cutting operations.

Tip: For a quick spacing gauge, use the
3mm hex wrench to set the correct spacing
between the riving knife and the blade, as
shown in Figure 70.
