Storing names and numbers

1. Press Names, scroll to
press Select.
2. Key in the name; press a number key
( to ) repeatedly until the
desired character or number appears. The
most common punctuation marks and
special characters are available under the
number key . To insert a space, press
.
Note: All characters available under a
number key are not printed on the key.
The characters available under a number
key depend on the language selected in
the menu 4-4-1.
Tip: When entering names in the
phone book, the phone uses title
case, which automatically writes
the first character of a name in
upper case and the rest of the
word in lower case.

4. Key in an area code and phone number,
and press OK. If you wish to add a voice
tag, see "Adding a voice tag to a phone
number" on page 18.

Writing text:
• If the next letter is located on the same
key as the present one, press
(or wait until the cursor appears again)
and then key in the letter.
• To switch between upper case and lower
case, press quickly. The symbol
or abc shown at the top of the display
indicates the selected case.
• To insert a number, press and hold the key
labelled with the desired number. Number
mode is indicated by
the display. To switch between letters and
numbers, press and hold
• Pressing brings up a list of special
characters. Move through the list to the
desired character with
press Select to insert it in the name.
• If the character list continues on to
another screen, you can scroll between
the screens by pressing
• If you make a mistake, you can remove
characters to the left of the cursor by
pressing Clear as many times as
necessary. Pressing and holding
clear the screen.

Tip: If you key in the + character
for the international prefix (press
twice) in front of the
country code, you will be able to
use the same phone number when
you are calling from abroad.
Quick save:
When in the standby mode, key in
the phone number, press Options,
and select Save. Then, enter the
