Sending a Fax
Scanning Adjustment
Contrast
If your document is very light or very dark, you might want to set the contrast accordingly. Use
S.LIGHT to send a light document. Use DARK to send a dark document.

Insert the document face up in the feeder, or face down on the glass platen.

Press Menu, 1, 3, 3.

When the screen displays your selection, press Set.

Press 2 if you are finished choosing settings, and go to Step 6 —OR— Press 1 if you want to
select additional settings. The display returns to Setup Send menu.

Enter a fax number and press Start to send a fax.
Fax Resolution
When you have a document in the feeder, you can use the Fax Resolution key. Press Fax
Resolution continuously until you see your selection on the screen. (See Multiple Resolution
Transmission (Not Available for Colour Fax) in Chapter 5.)

Dialling a Number

One Touch Dialling

Insert the document face up in the feeder, or face down on the glass platen.

Press the One Touch key of the location you want to call.

Press Start.
to select AUTO, LIGHT, or DARK.
Suitable for most typed documents. (No lights)
Good for small print; transmits a little slower than Standard resolution.
Use when document has varying shades of grey; slow transmission time.
Use to send the original in colour.
You can also change the Fax resolution to S.Fine, please see Multiple
Resolution Transmission (Not Available for Colour Fax) Chapter 5.
If you try to use a One Touch or Speed Dial location with no number stored in it,
you hear a warning sound, and screen displays NOT ASSIGNED . The display
returns to normal after 2 seconds.
