SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS

The food processor Service Manual is written for the
professional service technician who has familiarity with
®
KitchenAid
and Commercial Appliances.
The purpose of this service manual is to familiarize the
professional house wares technician with the techniques
required to repair the following:
7 cup food processor
KFP710 & 4KFP710
KFP715
KFP720 & 4KFP720
9 cup food processor
KFP740 & 4KFP740
12 cup food processor
KFP750
KFPW760 & 4KFPW760 (wide mouth)
KFPM770 & 4KFPM770 (wide mouth metallic)
The following safety guidelines should be adhered to when
servicing this food processor.
Ensure the workplace is dry and sanitary at all times.
Inspect food processor for cleanliness before any work is
started.
Visually inspect the food processor requiring service in a
well-lit area.
Use a mild, non-abrasive dishwashing soap solution and a
clean towel to wash and dry the food processor housing.
Ensure the service technician's hands are clean at all
times during the service procedure.
Ensure the work place has properly polarized AC outlets
that adhere to all local electrical codes applicable at the
time of the repair.
Inspect the food processor power cord before testing the
processor's operation.
Do not run the food processor if the power cord is
damaged
- replace with a new cord assembly.
Conduct all disassembly and assembly procedures with
the food processor disconnected from the AC supply.
When performing a test, do not leave the running food
processor unattended.
Do not remove the work bowl cover from the work bowl or
remove the work bowl from the processor base while it is
running.
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
Ensure the KitchenAid service technician is aware of the
operating safeguards recommended to the customer:
1.
Read all instructions in the KitchenAid
Services Guide to Professional Results booklet.
2.
Close supervision is necessary when any food processor
is used by or near children.
3.
This food processor has been UL
and commercial use.
4.
To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse cord,
plugs, or food processor housing in water or other liquid.
5.
Do not operate any food processor with a damaged cord or
plug or after the food processor has malfunctioned or has
been damaged in any manner.
6.
Unplug the food processor from the outlet before cleaning.
7.
Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or
counter or touch hot surfaces.
8.
Do not use an extension cord.
9.
The use of accessories not recommended by KitchenAid
may result in fire, shock, or injury to persons.
10. Do not use the food processor outdoors.
11. Do not place the food processor on or near a hot gas or
electric burner or on a heated oven.
12. Do not use the food processor for other than its intended
use.
13. Do not use the food processor without the work bowl cover
in place while in operation.
14. Do not use a work bowl or work bowl cover.
15. Do not clean the work bowl/cover with harsh cleaners,
steel wool pads, or other abrasive material.
