CAUTION
High pressure washers and
parts cleaner can damage your
motorcycle.
Do not use high pressure
washers to clean your motorcy-
cle. Do not use parts cleaner to
throttle body and fuel injection
sensors.
3. Once the dirt has been com-
pletely removed, rinse off the
detergent with running water.
4. After rinsing, wipe off the
motorcycle with a wet chamois
or cloth and allow it to dry in
the shade.
5. Check carefully for damage to
painted surfaces. If there is
any damage, obtain "touch-up"
paint and "touch-up" the dam-
age.
CAUTION
Cleaning with any alkaline or
strong acid cleaner gasoline,
brake fluid, or any other sol-
vent will damage the motorcy-
cle parts.
Clean only with soft cloth and
warm water with mild deter-
gent.
Waxing the Motorcycle
After washing the motorcycle,
waxing is recommended to further
protect and beautify the paint.
Observe the precautions speci-
fied by the wax manufacturer.
INSPECTION AFTER CLEANING
For extended life of your motorcy-
cle, lubricate according to GEN-
ERAL LUBRICATION section.
WARNING
Wet brakes can cause poor
braking performance and may
lead to an accident.
Avoid a possible accident by
expecting longer stopping dis-
tances after washing your
motorcycle. Apply brakes sev-
eral times to let heat dry the
brake pads or shoes.
Follow the procedures in the
INSPECTION BEFORE RIDING
section to check your motorcycle
for any problems that may have
arisen during your last ride.
