10.Reinstall the drain plug and
tighten it securely. Pour about
3400 ml (3.6 US qt) of the
specified oil in the filler hole.
(See FUEL, OIL AND COOL-
ANT
RECOMMENDATION
section.)
NOTE: About 3000 ml (3.2 US qt)
of oil will be required when chang-
ing oil only.
CAUTION
Engine damage may occur if
you use oil that does not meet
SUZUKI's specifications.
Use the oil specified in the
FUEL, OIL AND COOLANT
RECOMMENDATION section.
11.Reinstall the oil filler cap. Start
the engine (while the motorcy-
cle is outside on level ground)
and allow it to idle for a few
minutes.
12.Turn the engine off and wait
approximately 3 minutes. Hold
the motorcycle vertically and
recheck the oil level on the
engine oil inspection window.
The oil level should be at the
"F" (full) mark. If it is lower than
the "L" mark, add oil until it
reaches the "F" mark. Inspect
the areas around the drain
plug and oil filter for leaks.
ENGINE IDLE SPEED
INSPECTION
Inspect the engine idle speed.
The engine idle speed should be
1000 – 1200 r/min when the
engine is warm.
NOTE: If the engine idle speed is
not within the specified range, ask
your Suzuki dealer or a qualified
mechanic to inspect and repair
the motorcycle.
