How To Use The Nortel Telephone

MAKING A CALL:

Lift the handset, or press the [Extension Line] key or
press the [Handsfree] key, or
If a headset is connected, press the [Headset] key.
Internal Calling
Dial the 4 digit extension.
Local Calling
Dial 9, plus the 7 digit phone number or
9 1, plus the area code and number
Long Distance with Access Code
Must be authorized and issued by a cost center manager
Press [*6*] then enter long distance access code
Dial 9 1, plus the area code and number.
Emergency
Dial 911

ANSWERING CALLS:

Lift the handset, or press the ringing [Extension Line]
key, or press the [Handsfree] key, or
If a headset is connected, press the [Headset] key.

DISCONNECTING A CALL:

Press the [Goodbye] key, or
Replace the handset
Note: Use the [Goodbye] key to disconnect a handsfree call.

PLACING A CALL ON HOLD:

Press the [Hold] key to put an active call on hold. The
indicator will flash next to the [Extension Line] key.
To return to the caller, press the flashing [Extension Line]
key.
